Hiking in South Tyrol
To the lodge Schlüterhütte via Campill
This moderately difficult tour starts in Campill/Lungiarü: Follow Trail no. 4 near the village church into the idyllic Mühlental. Continue along the marker no. 4 steeply up through the forest in Serestal. The easy path through the lovely Peitlerwiesen to the Kreuzkofeljoch rewards the climb. From there it is only a few minutes’ walk to the lodge Schlüterhütte. In total, this 6.5-kilometer climb takes 2 to 2.5 hours. There are 800 meters of elevation difference.
Ascent to the lodge from Zans
Starting from the car park Zanseralm, take Trail no. 25 slightly uphill along the stream Kaserillbach. After crossing the stream Atzbach, follow Trail no. 32, cross the meadow Kirchwiesl and the stream Kaserillbach before you reach the Kaserill-Alm. Then follow marker no. 32 on a moderate climb across open alpine pastures – and after about 1 hour and 45 minutes of walking, you have reached the lodge Schlüterhütte. This easy 3.6-kilometre approach with an elevation difference of 600 metres is also suitable for families. Alternatively, you may choose to ascend via the Gampenalm. Here, too, you start at the car park Zanseralm and initially follow Trail no. 6. After a gentle climb through the forest, you reach the Gampenalm, where you may take a short break and enjoy the wonderful view. From the Gampenalm, Trail no. 35 leads over idyllic alpine pastures to the lodge Schlüterhütte. This route is a little longer and requires a total of about 2 hours of walking, covering 4.2 kilometres and 600 meters of elevation.
Via Würzjoch
to the lodge Schlüterhütte
It doesn’t matter whether you start from the hiking car park at Cialciagn Gunggan or from the car park Würzjoch – both itineraries take you over the Peitlerscharte to the lodge Schlüterhütte. Starting from the car park Cialciagn Gunggan, follow Trail no. 1 before switching to the narrow Trail no. 4, which takes you through steep terrain up to the Peitlerscharte. If you start at the car park Würzjoch, first follow Trail no. 8, which also leads to the Peitlerscharte. From there, the path winds gently up and down over green mountain meadows to the Kreuzkofeljoch. Then there is only a short, gentle descent to the lodge Schlüterhütte. You should expect the 4.5-kilometer route to take about two hours to walk. Both starting points offer a varied and scenically impressive path to the lodge Schlüterhütte, perfect for a real hiking experience in the Dolomites!
